This beautiful flower opens in the morning and if you plan to go back to view it, you better do so before noon as they close by then. Blooming May thru July. When the flower goes to a fruit, it resembles a dandelion, but it can be 3-4" across. Look for these plants in dry, open sites or roadsides. It is an occasional flower (found in 11-31 counties in TN).
